Thanks Jeremy, I hope your noggin stops hurting so much. Just be thankful you were not writing for Buffalo this past couple years! But it looks as if they will get another shot at being much better. Amazing what a 1st OA does for the psyche!

Alright, I’ll lay down my secret “shame”. I, for whatever reason, love the Sabres. I remember Pegula crying when he bought the team. I used to pray for Ryan Miller to win a cup. The fans love hockey, and stick by that team like Forest Gump stuck to Jenny. No matter how much heartbreak there is, they keep coming back. When I watch the games, I always select the Sabres broadcast when it’s an option. I’d love to see Eichel help the team navigate to better days. The fans have always been so good to me. I just cannot wrap my head around the team falling apart like it does. And yes, seeing Brett Hull and Dom Hasek win a cup together in Detroit felt like some sort of historic peace treaty. They need to remake “back to the future” and have Marty predict a Sabres cup win, it worked for the Cubs.

I like Dunn, but I really like the thought of adding a bigger LD with more reach and power that is harder to play against. There will be some one available from a team that has to cut spending. Such as cap-strapped teams, TB,Wash, NYI, Leafs, and the Nucks. And teams on internal budgets, such as FLA, ARI, maybe Buff, and Nash. There will be an opportunity to "help" these teams with their cap space and budgets. I think Stevie will pick up a couple good young NHLers this way. But he may have to eat a bad contract to do it.
An example could be to trade with NYI and get Nick Leddy and his 1 yr left at $5.5M + Uncle Leo (retain $1M) + both their 2022 2nds for a 5th....just a thought. Wings get a stop gap LD that they can flip for another pick at the TDL, maybe even back to NYI!

I can’t get my mind around the struggles, but I do honestly love that team. One of the great blessings in Yzerman’s work is the “steadiness”. Create and wait. Pegula didn’t mind spending, but it just felt like they needed a little more patience, tempered expectations.

Nice lay down. Part of what I like about Dunn is that he could pair with Seider at some point. That kid’s got a lot of reach and is playing really physical. We’ll see how it all goes. I liked Leddy a lot. When Chicago moved him and then Hjalmarrson those were two players I would have loved to get. With the perfect storm of teams needing to control cap space and the expansion draft, I think Yzerman will be talking about a lot of younger talent that may not normally have been available. I’ve said it before, but I’d pay money to be able to sit in Detroit’s “war room” around draft time. Just listen to the calls and discussions. See what deals almost happened. I love when there are cameras in the room for stuff like that

When Dekeyser is the best LD on the team there’s no need to be picky. Give me Dunn all day.

Think Regier put a voodoo hex on us when he got fired, we have been in hell since then. We shall see what happens, hopefully Adams can lead us to better days, unfortunately I think that will be without Eichel.

Eichel's convalescence is up. Any word on what he does now?? Is he healthy???? Seems like a decision is close at hand.

There’s good pieces. Reinhardt needs to be left at center. He seems happier and I loved watching him play there. The room need positive energy

Also, do you think Ullmark will re-sign? It may be best to include a goalie in a deal for Jack or dare I say Rhino......I would like Rhino to come to Detroit, since he has proven to do well at center.

Would give those assets for Reinhart.

Then Buff could flip them to Wash for Kuzy!

I don't know about Ullmark, when healthy has proven to be pretty good, just can't stay healthy. I would like to see him back, but think he will need to take a 2yr prove it deal and it won't be for 5mill a season atleast not with the Sabres. A lot of smoke with Columbus and Rhino and 1 of there goalie's, but think Columbus would have to add IMO for that to happen.

Toronto's 1st and Elvis should be a good trade for Rhino, you already possess back-ups in your system. Ullmark walks....

Gonna be a interesting offseason, I really hope they can keep Rhino. But who knows, so much on Adams plate.

My hope for the draft is that the Wings pick up a NHL proven LD and that a good LD slipps down to 6 OA, such as Hughes or Edvinsson. Most mock drafts have Detroit taking Eklund, who is a good get, too.

I was the one who suggested Dunn in that article. The idea was to look at teams who might have an expansion draft challenge, which we clearly don't. I actually don't think Dunn is that great. Certainly not worth a 1st. But if the Blues feel he could be lost for nothing they may accept a low ball offer.
